Environmental Monitoring
Situation
BioNetwork specializes in designing interactive learning solutions for students preparing for careers in the pharmaceutical and life science industries. To create the most comprehensive and engaging learning approach, NCCCS wanted:
A blended/hybrid online curriculum,
Hands-on practical application and simulations for their continuing education courses.
Solution
Digitec worked with BioNetwork to design and produce an immersive, scenario-based cleanroom simulation for the college program. The Virtual Learning Object (VLO) allows students to:
Participate in hands-on practice of environmental monitoring in a safe environment using several types of monitoring equipment.
Play the role as a cleanroom technician applying for a position in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
Demonstrate their knowledge of cleanroom protocol, monitoring equipment to collect samples from the environment.
Learners then review the collection results and “advise management” on the level of contamination in the facility’s cleanroom.
Results
Digitec was able to assist NCCCS BioNetwork in:
Creating an engaging and interactive learning experience.
Offering distance learning students hands-on training and simulation through the Virtual Learning Object.
Expanding the blended/online curriculum and continuing education courses it offered.
