Digitec and Florida Virtual School have joined forces to create two new courses for online middle- and high-school students: Computer Science I and Frog Virtual Dissection.

Computer Science I is a two-semester course that teaches students Python and Java programming. Students experience the world of programming through instructive text, interactive lessons, individual and group assignments, graphics, audio and interactive games. Interactive exercises such as the "Codewalker" take students line-by-line through code explaining through voice-over why the code looks and works the way it does. As part of their learning experience, students also create their own programs.

The Frog Virtual Dissection course enables students to complete their required dissection lab in a 3-D interactive environment. This experience melds education with gameplay as the tongue-in-cheek Dr. Oggles clearly instructs students on the required educational points of the dissection lab, while also allowing them to explore tools of the dissection process and their amphibian subject at their own pace. Through the use of rollover factoids, students learn about the similarities between their frog and their own physiology. Finally, students are challenged to remember the location and general appearance of a number of organs in a test of their newly acquired knowledge.
